Our Sunday School starts at 9:00 am. When you come to Groffdale Mennonite Church on Sunday morning, you will be welcomed by a greeter; ushers will help you find your Sunday School class and give you a program of the worship service. Classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 9:50 a.m.
Our worship service begins at 10:00 a.m. and normally lasts until 11:15 a.m. During the service we have a time of praise and worship which usually consists of a mix of songs from hymn books and contemporary praise and worship songs. Music will mostly be accompanied by a piano or band with some acapella singing. There will be announcements of important events coming up, the sermon for the morning, and a time of sharing in the congregation by open microphone. The service concludes with a benediction.
Twice a month during the sermon time through the end of the service, children participate in a separate children’s worship service. Other times they stay with the adults and a special children’s time is part of the service. A staffed nursery is available for both the Sunday School hour and the worship service.
Our goal in worship is that we would experience a fresh awareness of God, realize our need for God, and feel God’s touch on our lives. As we worship God together we strive to develop deep, loving relationships with each other.
Several worship teams and worship leaders alternate leading the Sunday morning service, allowing many persons to use their talents and gifts. A Worship Support Team guides the various ministries of music, ushering, and sound technology involved in helping the worship service accomplish our goal to connect with and honor God in worship.
